I agree, after driving a domestic car/truck, you will really appreciate the hard work that Nissan engineers invested in the QX4/Pathfinder.
At my work, we drive Chevy Astro's (4.3L V6). While the Astro is way quicker than our R50's (and that's fully loaded with parts too) they just don't last. Our Chevy's usually hit the death bed around 150k miles, at which point we'll sell it for parts. They are not worth being repaired, most mechanics have trouble diagnosing them, even the Chevy dealer. We sold the last one with 140k miles, barely running, for $900. Meanwhile my QX4 has 140k miles and the engine still purrs, still haven't had any mechanical failures of any sort. One rental car that did make me feel sad getting back in the QX4, is the Nissan Murano. It's quick, nimble, agile, great mpg, and still has a good AWD system. I drove it for about a week. It's nice to actually be able to pass people. When I got back in my QX4, the seat seemed more comfortable, but when I started driving, I thought there was something wrong with the engine. I thought "Why is it going so slow??" then I realized that this sluggishness was normal and I had just become accustomed to this. I mean it felt REAL SLOW. But considering the QX4's limitations, you can't argue much. For a car that just doesn't die and can go almost anywhere, i'm really happy with what I got
