How to alter the computer system of a 1990 Pathfinder

I need help altering the computer system on a 1990 Pathfinder frame and running gear to use under a project car. I would like to find out if the computer can be altered to operate just the engine and transmission. Any assistance would be appreciated.

Basically, all the ECM does is control the engine and transmission so why would you need to alter it, which by the way can't be done. You can alter signals it receives and puts out for aftermarket tuning hacks but that's about it. Any other trouble codes the ECM might flag that are not engine or transmission related, like from the ABS or airbags if they are disconnected in your project, will not affect engine or transmission performance. If you're not using the original dashboard then you'll never see the annoying warning lights for those things anyway.
