This process works for 5th and 5.5th gens. 4th gens won't properly "save" the advancement.

You can advance your timing to 17* BTDC. You HAVE TO run supreme unleaded after this, otherwise you may have spark knock.

You will only gain better throttle response and a fraction of accelleration.

Advancing your timing with Nissan’s CONSULT II tool. For those of you with dealerships like mine (the tech may need a little help)

On CONSULT II main menu screen choose “ENGINE”Check out any codes that are stored, then clear codesPress “WORK SUPPORT”Press “TARGET IGN TIMING”Press “UP” x2 for 2 degrees, correction which you should be able to seePress “UPDATE”Press “BACK”On the “WORK SUPPORT” screen find “IDLE LEARN“

Perform this, since your idle will have changed.

I know for a fact that in a 4th gen, when you disconnect the battery, that you lose the advancement. If you can have it done for free, you've got nothing to lose. I had to pay out $102. to have it done, so it's not something I would want to have to pay for twice.

If you're going with the Emanage, don't waste the $$$ on the consult II timing advance. You'll get so much more from the Emanage.
