I've been trying to figure this out for awhile. I have a 95 with a redtop in it. I swapped out intakes the other day, and now it's not making the straight woosh sound.....it does the weird ch ch ch chsss (chattering noise). I'm guessing this is compressor surge, so I want to fix it pronto.

Which way would I turn the nut on top, do I want to 'tighten' it or 'soften' it? I've played with it back and forth and can't get back to the regular big woosh sound like it should be. I have it recirculated and I only run about 10-12 psi on my stock T25. Please let me know! thanks.

It doesn't tell you the rotation on the BOV?? iirc, mine says right is hard, left is soft. So just loosen up the nut and use and allen wrench to screw in the thread.

Yeah, mine says right is hard, and left is soft. I'm not sure which way I want to go though? I run fairly low boost and can't get rid of this cha cha cha sound. Is there a procedure printed out anywhere? I bought it used so didn't get any instructions.

I can probably scan mine and post them up tonight. But their in japanese lol. I would go with tightening it though if you want to minimize the sound/get rid of it. If its loose than its easier for it to open and make that sound. Harder will make it more difficult and open less frequently.

I have this BOV and i have it all the way on the soft setting and can still only get it to open at 5-6 psi..Anything below is surge..Its like this with almost all the aftermarket bov's iv seen. The greddy RS is one of the better ones..All the Blitz and HKS units iv seen dont open at all below 10psi.

Alright cool, I'll set it all the way soft and go from there then. I'm not trying to get rid of the sound, I like the way it sounds.

I'm trying to get rid of the flutter that it's doing, cause I'm thinking that might be harsh on my turbo. Does that cha cha cha or compressor surge mean that it's not opening at all then?

Yes that is air bouncing between the blades. Just play with your BOV until it goes away.

My goes cha cha cuz it echo in the reciculation hose, only on low boost 5 or less on light throttle. 6 and up goes whoosh

Where is your bov set at, like all the way soft or hard? Cuz mine used to do the exact same as yours, until I switched intakes. Now it does the chatter no matter what psi boost I hit. Really wierd ordeal.
