My uncle was showing me how to do it on his mazda truck, but where is the hook up for adding a temp gauge on a 240? If anyone has a link or something or could explain it. The reason I would like to do this is because my car seems to run very hot, and the temp gauge stays very low down, even though I know my car is hotter than it indicates, and would be a good monitoring tool for me. Thanks in advance and dont flame my *** for posting this, if you dont have anything to add thats Not about installing a temp gauge, just refrain from posting please.

hi, Do you plan on keeping the old sensor? The temp sensor for your dash is the single wire brass unit on left side of engine up front by the throttle body. Right next to it is the 2 wire thermo sensor that the ecu uses. You can thread the aftermarket sensor or sending unit into the stocker 1 wire location. IF you still want a working dash gauge, you cab thread it into the coolant bleed hole. it will not be as accurate due its location, but at least the gauge wont be (dead). E-mail me if you have any other queations. Also, be careful when removing stock sensor. It is made of brass and due to corrosion and deposits from cooling sytem it can be hard to remove of shatter in 2 pieces. If this happens, dont freak out. Try using the proper size eazy out and some patiance. Happen to me once a few years ago. Hope this helps.
