I bought an HID kit for my headlights and decided to buy off eBay for a couple bucks, these 4300k "H.I.D. Platinum Halogen Bulbs". I sorta figured it would give it that HID look without the HID price-tag.

I just got them in the mail today and wanted to install them, but dont know how to easily/directly get to the back of the fog lights.

Any hints, tips, tricks, advice?

Thanks!

Did you get them for the headlamps or fog lights?

Go look at it. You pull the housing out through the front, mine took 1 screw and 1 bolt each.

Yeah, you'll have to pull the fog light out from the front of the vehicle to replace the bulb. It's really pretty simple.

You have to pry off the black plastic trim next to the fog lamp. My suggestion: use a flat-head screwdriver and wrap the end in a soft cloth. Stick the screwdriver between the back plastic trim and the glass lamp (it's easier to pop it off if you pry it at the top or bottom of the crack between the trim and glass lamp). It can be a little difficult to remove and it may require some persuasion (be careful not to crack or chip the glass). Then you will see the two bolts which hold the fog lamp to the bumper, just remove the two bolts and you can pull the fog lamp out. Once you have it out you should be able to see how to replace the bulb.

What a pain in the @ss. On the '01 Q it's got a plastic wedge that's held in with a single screw. After removing that then it's only one bolt that keeps the housing attached. It's extremely easy. I don't understand why they would make it more difficult for the Pathy, it's not like it cost any more to produce.

You must be missing a screw, because I have two. One at the top of the plastic and one at the bottom.
