Ok, so I up on a latter today, hanging x-mas lights.....I have my M45 key fob in my pocket.....I look up one minute and ( I swear to all that is holy) that ALL of my windows were up, all the way.......I continue to go about hanging lights on my gutters, and next thing I glance up and realize all of my M45 windows are down.......

I think I remember the salesmen showing me this feature, but I think I was in awe of getting the car that all I heard was (blah blah blah).....

Can anyone give me a hint as to how I preformed this function? and is there any other functions I can preform with my key fob besides the obvious of unlock/lock and trunk release....

Thanks in advance

Don't have my M yet, but in my nissan 350z all you have to do is hold down the unlock button for a few seconds and the windows will roll down.

So can I safetly assume that if I hold unlock again, once the windows are down that the windows will than roll up?

So how in the world can I get them to roll back up with the fob?

You cannot. That is a safety issue ... lowering the windows automatically with the fob can be done from pretty far away (and, as you noticed, quite by accident). Raising it without seeing what might be in the way (child? dog? ) is not a good idea. Hence, not available.

I have the same issue with the trunk unlock, by the way. In my old office, my car was close enough downstairs in the parking lot that I accidentally opened the trunk or set off the alarm a few times (fob in pocket and sat down and the unlock key got pressed). I learned to take the fob out of my pocket and put it in my laptop case when I reached my desk.

You can however take the key out of the fob, insert it, and turn right and hold. This will close your windows. Helps if you forgot to roll them up after you shut the car down and don't want to get in, press the button, and then roll them up from the inside.
