My aluminum compressor housing was hella greasy, so took it off and let it soak in some dishsoap and some mr. clean crap.

Now, it reacted with the soap and is ****ed and very corroded, anyway to revert this stupid deed?

is it iron or AL? If it's iron, muriatic acid will do the trick. Just make sure to rinse afterwards.

smear it with grease and dirt or use an acid like eagle1 etching mag cleaner. Don't spray yourself in the eye though, it'll etch that too, they was calling me "left eye" for a couple of days.
