How robust are the CVT replacements?

I picked up a 08 rogue that had the CVT replaced at the dealer under warranty in Nov 2012. I was told that these units are updated and do not have the problems the early models did.

What did they change? Is this true?

they maybe changed a few tiny parts inside - but not a whole.
