i was just thinking today, how low can that air/fuel ratio be before the car wont run? mine ran fine at 6:1 and now is even worse due to not being tuned yet. i can literally watch my gas gauge go down when im driving it. i drove 15 miles last night and managed to use a quarter tank of gas. has anyone had theirs run with an air/fuel ratio lower than this, or am i just "special"?

by the way, the car runs like a swiss watch

Mine's too rich to run! Haven't checked ratios...(duh). But that's because my injectors never, ever close with the ecu plugged in. WTF? That's why I'm getting an SDS.

mine runs pretty rich too... my rear bumper is getting pretty black right around the exhaust tip. I just picked up a new o2 sensor though, so we'll see how that works!

fix that! My Toyota fried the computer and ran at around 10:1 for over 2-years. Over time the cylinders being washed down with fuel cause scoring in the cylinder walls and a car that could hang with a stock RB20DET Skyline could now barely pull itself up a hill. Fix your mix

O man, you want to talk about your car running rich, You should see and smell my car, I can refuel another car through my exhaust, I should of taken boost_boys advice and get a standalone ecu isntead of going through JWT, with My stock injectors 370cc, jwt program was pretty good, but now having 550cc injectors, dam, I don't know what to say, I guess I need a bigger fuel tank lol.

I am in the process of doing a full rebuild on a RWD engine as well as I will convert it to FWD and replace the ca18det that is currently in my car, but depending on the Funds, I am hoping I can get a standalone some time this summer.Few people around here have beeing using the SDS system and I only heard so far nothing but good feedbacks.

haha, good to know im not the only one. if you hold your hand in front of the exhaust outlet in my car, your hand gets wet with fuel. i leaned it out considerably today and its not doing so badly. i hope to get it tuned sometime in the near future.

by the way, i managed to blow my intake side valve cover gasket today.... oil leaking out the back and down the bell housing onto the floor. its really gay. i can use the ca18de fwd valve covers, right?

Mine runs slobbery rich as well. I am installing some hardware as soon as my fittings come in to hopefully rectify that.

I still want to know how he blew the valve cover gasket. WTF, it's like oil under there and the gasket is rubber. How does it blow? I can see it leaking, but that'd be when I unbolt it, clean it and bust out my big supply of RTV and slap a nice bead on there. That is unless the rubber is dry-rotted or turned to dust .

dynoed my CA yesterday, the CA seems to like it rich. i would make more torque and it would come on earlier if i tuned it to about 11.1 A/F.

i dont know how i blew it out either. i just saw oil leaking onto the floor and traced it up the back of the engine. it looks like the gasket blew out at the back, spraying oil all over the firewall. it only leaks when the engine is hot and it isnt a very big leak (just that under pressure things happen more quickly..). anywho.. that gasket was a little past its prime so if you want to send me one rafi, it would be awesome. just let me know what i can do to pay you for it. if you take paypal thisll be really easy. thanks man!

oh, and ill take a picture of the gasket when i can, just to prove that it can be done, haha.

HI Tim,

I thought you want the Valve covers, but instead you actually need the gaskets, I do have two used ones that I had them on for about a month which I removed due to work that I had to do in the head and I always use new ones when ever I can, but if you want them new, I can also get them for you, they are about $12 each which I do recomend to replace your half moon piece gaskets as well, they are cheap about $1.5.

If you want the used ones, just email me your address and they are yours man and obviously no charge as they are used. [email protected] and if you want the new ones, you can paypal me to the same address and You will pay for shipping upon receiving them.
