We all love our cars and think they are the best. Nissan is one of the best companies INO since my Q45 is the first car i have owned over one year without breaking off motor or transmission mounts and the car is a joy to drive still after almost 2 years and 50k miles, my baby is one of the most reliable cars i have ever owned.

I am looking to buy a 2006-2007 Maxima but i have heard they don’t turn well, they are not reliable, fall apart too easily since they are cheaply built, and some other smack talk from friends who have owned them. I have yet to test drive one but you guys are THE NICO BROTHERHOOD so i came to you guys first. Please rate the car in your detailed opinion and if there are things for me to watch out from inform me. Im not a big fan of FWD and if the car is iffy i will go with a 2004 Q45. Last but not least tell me a little about the new one that’s coming out if you have had hands on experience with it.

"These are not subjects to search about since i am asking for experience, so don’t ask me to search. THANK TOU!!!"

I'd rather have an F50 Q than a 6th gen Max any day (and I even really like the 6th gen Max).

The 6th gen Max sometimes gets a bad rap that I don't think it deserves in the least. The early years had more problems, but by '06/'07 (really even '05), they were cured.

One MAJOR thing to consider with a 6th gen is if you want a 6th or I guess what you could call 6.5 gen. In 2007, the car was slightly redesigned. Minor exterior and interior changes, which are down to taste, but the biggest change was the transmission. 2004-2006 Maximas had either a 4 or 5 speed auto or a 6 speed manual. '07+ are CVT only. So if you have strong transmission preferences, that could dictate what year you go looking for. Avoid the 4 speed auto (only found in early SLs)--it's not problematic but the others are just much better. The 5 speed auto and 6 speed manual are excellent, and the CVT is great too.

The VQ shouldn't give you any trouble. Drivetrainwise the car is as reliable as they get. You may run into some minor electronic issues, but nothing more than you'd find on any other contemporary Nissan.

For what it's worth, my parents have a 2004 SE that they bought brand new in '04. It has been an EXCELLENT car, as reliable as my '93 was. No major issues, very few minor issues, very very little downtime (MAYBE a week and a half in the 4 years they've had it, and some of that was waiting for paint).

There was/is a common issue with vibration in the front wheels/steering wheel, so that's something to look out for. Doesn't affect all cars and presents itself to varying degrees.
