I bought tires back in November I believe and I have a piece of metal in the corner part of the tread where I believe they will say it can't be patched safely. So.... my question is about how much will I have to pay to get a new tire?I know it has to do with tread depth, but I am just trying to get a percentage. A new tire would be about $140 retail.

Im not sure the question... I never had a defective tire (is that what you are saying?)

And the manufacturer will cover it for defects on a prorated basis, and you are trying to find out what your reimbursement should be?

The easiest thing to do is call the place you bought the tires from or call the mfg customer service # and ask.

well the tire warranty doesnt cover road damage. just like the dealership warranty doesnt cover you if u get into an accident. it only covers manufactoring defects and the mileage warranty. however if u did purchase the optional road hazard coverage along with the tires, usually within the first 1/4 of the tread life its a free replacement. but different tire shops have their own way of calculating the proration. if you didn't purchase the road hazard then you're s*** outta luck lol.
