How Plug/n/play is the A/C

I was wondering if all the plugs are in the harness so that other then the antena and amount of speakers would I be able to install a factory bose system in where a base model is ? I believe that there is an extra amp. but the head-unit should fit and steering wheel controls should work . I also know that if it is like my Titan I need a satelite tuner - would that plug also be in the harness alreadySteering wheel controls with XM is what I am attempting to achieve . ( I know should have bought the pkg at the time ) but they didn't have that model on the lot so I got what I got :o( Thanx for your help in advanced . P.S. if my idea will work and someone has upgraded to an aftermarket system and wants to sell their stock system please email me .

I have the stock Bose system and I can't get the XM controls to work on the steering wheel. Every time I hit a button (other than volume) on the steering wheel it bumps me onto AM/FM. I know that's not the question you asked, but hearing something about controlling XM radio from the steering wheel... now I wonder if it's possible....

not to insult you but without the steering controls do you have full control of xm ? or do you not recieve xm at all ?

I get XM, still on the 3 month trial... probably gonna go Sirius once I get an aftermarket head unit... still, for station changes I have to use the the radio face. The only control I have over XM from the steering wheel is volume.

The Pioneer Avic D3 touchscreen. And don't worry about paying anything for the stock Bose unit. I probably would have thrown it out or boxed it up, so it's good to know it'll be put to use. When I get it replaced I'll hit you up on MSN, box it up and send it your way.

I'm not quite sure if its that simple. I thgink you may beed an antenna for the XM. That's the shark fin that's on top of the car. but I may be wrong. Believe it or not, no one on this forum has ever tried to do this swap. I guess it would be simple enough, but I just don't know. Let us know how it turns out!

Would love to know if this works, I was interested in doing the same thing. I don't know how the Bose h/u will behave with the rest of the system being "non-bose"

I went in today to get the new stereo installed and the guy who told me he had the right harness... didn't have the right harness. I overnighted it, so I should have my new head unit in place tomorrow afternoon. I hope.

Okay, I got everything for the install but since I'm not very good with wires and such I took it to a place to get it installed for a small fee. Well, a not so small fee. Anyway, they're booked solid throughout the holidays and can't get me in until the 16th of January unless someone cancels sooner than that. So I'll let you know when I have the stock head unit out and the new one in so I can get it sent. Sorry it's taking so long!

I got the email, unfortunately everything but message preview is blocked while I'm at work and all messengers are banned in the workplace as well. The email address you wrote to is also my MSN and I'll be home all through the Christmas holiday, so I'll hit you up sometime tomorrow or Monday and let you know where I stand with the installer. Hopefully he can get me in Monday but I have to wait and see.
