Hey guys I was just interested in knowing how often you swap plugs in your motors when running a atmosphere vented BOV? From reading on here it seems that the missing air makes the motor run rich at times and I would assume that it would need plug changes more often than a motor with a recirculated BOV would. Also when running a atmosphere vented BOV do you notice any backfiring or flame shooting (not a bad thing). Thanks in advance

The car only runs rich for a fraction of a second in between shifts and when you let off under accel and the BOV opens. Its not enough to foul your plugs. I've always changed my plugs with every oil change only because I use the NGK coppers.

Thats what I had originally thought as well but after doing some reading on here it seemed like some people had problems with fouled plugs. Thanks for the info

I should do my plugs every month, but I have been lax latley becuase I have been moving, LOL.

My issue is more that my IACV is FUBAR. But I usually just clean em every month with the Dremel, and replace every 6 months. I mean, BCPR6ES-11s are only like $4.85 a set, so it is no biggie to change em.

7s are a bit cold for a standard or lightly boosted CA. I had a discussion with a local guru (11sec daily driven Startion) and he runs 7s with a TO4E. He said unless you are boosting 20psi+, 7s will foul quick. I have had bet luck with 6s at 10psi T25G.

I use 7´s on all upgraded CA´s without problems but maybe different gas here.

Im using NGK Platinum cold plugs and before I found a boost leak, I was cleaning them every second day, lol. Now that my turbo's going, im finding myself cleaning them once every 3 weeks or so

Yea, I wouldn't step down to a colder plug unless you are past the 250-260hp mark. I was fouling my 7's when I was below that. Also, the 7's are still to cold if you do a lot of daily driving and don't get into boost multiple times a day.

Stock plugs are fine for 230wph? Wow, i thought 14-15 lbs would be enough to step down to a colder plug.....thats cool though.
