WOW a shovel and an hour or two would have save the guy a few grand in repairs. Looke like the mud was thick enough to support most of the weight of the jeep...

I think simply using an appropraite towing rig or high powerred winch woulda worked better than a shovel

Never would I ever, let someone get a rolling start with slack in the line when pulling my rig, just so much force, asking for something to get broken when that line pulls tight and snaps
