How Nissan should have done the doorsills on the Rogue

I noticed an interesting feature in the way Mazda designed the door sills on the 2013 CX-5. The lower door trim is plastic and wraps underneath the sill against a what appears to be weatherstripping. Although I have not seen it in person, I do like the way it's done as it avoids the door sill scratching issue found on the Rogue.

Maybe Nissan should take notes?

I believe that would also help with letting hot air not come out the car when it's cold outside... Vise versa.
