I've been looking to buy a Nissan 240sx as a project car , you know something to fix up. I found this Nissan going up for auction and was wondering what you would pay for it as is. I do know this car has a salvaged title and It looks to be in bad shape but I don't know how to tell if the frame is bent. I don't mind replacing most of the body and I plan on doing a SR20DET swap along with a LSD rear end so the stock drive train doesn't matter either. The reason I'm asking about the frame is the body lines don't look like they line up so i'm worried the frame is bent. Anyways here is the only picture i have of the car

Hard to say without knowing any more than what you have provided. To give an accurate answer one would need to know: how many miles on it, the extent of the damage, how much rust or lack of rust, the condition of the engine and drivetrain if any, maybe the condition of the interior. some one else can chime in.If you can dig up any more info on it or look at in person that might give you a better idea.Best of luck!

Yea they don't provide any info online and i tried to call them but they said i can only look at the car at 12am next Thursday ( the day of the auction which starts at 1pm). I just trying to figure out about how much i should bid or if i should even bid at all. Carfax.com said the last accounted for miles was 220,000

I would not bid any more than what I could get if I parted the car out. That way if the frame is bad you can still recover your money. If the frame is good then you are ahead.

It will be quite clear if the frame is bent. Considering it has a salvaged title, and the damage doesn't look that bad, it could definitly have a bent frame.

It also looks like its been sitting there for a long time and has been to auction several times. Probably rusted out as well.....

Skip it and find something else. You could always bid 100-400, keep the car as a parts car, and buy a good running 240. Or just get aclean shell with no drivertrain/interior and swap everything over, which would save you money.

Don't pay more then 400 for this car, the less the better. Buy a clean shell for 300 to 1000, and a spun bearing KA for 100 or 200. Rebuild the motor of course. or spend good money for a nice KA with low miles from Lethal Injection in Alpharetta.

Or just buy a 2000 240 and put more money in it.
