I've been looking at a 240sx with similar damage as this car in the buy/sell forum zerothread/288686

But, i've been hesitant to put down an offer because I have no idea how much it would cost to replace the rear quarter section that is damaged. The car was hit on the rear bumper on the driver's side. The rear quarter panel is dented from the force of the impact. Also, the frame in the rear would have to be pulled straight. The toe hook is bent in and so is the rear exhaust. The car drives straight, alignment seems to be good.

How much would you estimate the cost to be? without paint, just the body work.

any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Ivan

p.s i'm a complete newb, so I figured this is the best place to post this.

Sorry, I am looking at a 240sx with similar damage to the one that was sold. I only included the link as a reference because he had pictures of the damage. Sorry, if I wasn't clear and for any misunderstanding.

Hopefully, someone who works in a body shop or with repair experience can give me a general estimate on how much it would cost to fix that type of damage.

Thanks.

Ivan

If the entire quarter needs to be cut out and a new one welded in it's probably not worth it except for a winter beater type ride. Paint alone will run you $400, plus the price of a quarter, and then theres all the labor just on cutting and replacing the quarter. How's anywhere from $800-1,200 at most body shops sound for an estimate?

Hmmm.... okay, thanks for the info. It's a tough call, the car is mechanically sound, only about 100,000 miles. But, it definitely has frame damage. thanks for the help.
