how much will all this cost?

ok, for a while ive wanted a 240sx. i had one but it rusted out so it was junked and i bought a civic. now a few months later, i have a chance to get another 240sx. its an automatic, 89. i searched prices for an SR20DET and transmission and i can get one for 1500. the car is 500. i plan on doing all the labor myself or with the help of friends. now, how much more will this all cost? i know i have to get some parts to swap it over to manual, i dont know if the swap comes with a cluth or not, i know there are a few parts on teh engine i shoudl replace for saftys sake, but i dotn knwo exactly what i need. any estimates?

depends what your swap comes with... get the full swap setup, will prb be more than 1500 though. also, the extra parts for auto to manual not including clutch will run you approx 300.

Even though a transmission comes with most swaps u still will need the slave master, pedal, and a few little things-- plus to do the swap right u will need about 150 in belts and hoses there is no point in puting old stuff on -- fuel ( Walbro, fuel filter, plus since u have a single cam then you will have to get twin cam lines or have lines made for AC and Power steering -- hope this helps -- u will love the car once its swapped I have almost all the prices if u need some help

Make sure you get a motor set, which should come with motor, trans, FULL UNCUT WIRING HARNESS, starter, altenator,all engine senors, ignitor chip. and you will need a 5 speed trans harness(SR or KA) you'll want to see if you can get a factory side mount and piping to save money. At bare minimun do a clutch, fuel pump,some form of a intercooler, an exhust of some kind. Its going to be hard to do the swap cheap and still end up with a good result, but it can be done with good research and hard work. Good luck
