How much volts is maf suppose to get??

Discuss the RB20, RB25 and RB26 series engines.

i wanted to know cause when i checked my maf i was getting only 6v and im not sure if that is right thats why i wanted to ask u guys....when i have the maf plugged in the car starts for like a couple seconds then dies???could it be the timing issue or what???

The signal from the maf to the ECU should be 0-5V like all the other analog sensor signals. Are you talking about the power supply to the MAF or the signal voltage from the MAF? Either way, it looks to be wrong.

well i wasnt using a odometer i was using one of those testers with only 3 voltage reading on it which is 6v 12v 24v and continious and on the bottom it has the + and -

My suggestion - Get the right tool for the job before speculating.....

Any competent DIY'er should have at the minimum a voltmeter...

Digital Multi-meter ($20) at a minimum.
I use an old analogue VOM from time to time as well.

you guys are both right...so i will get my hands on one asap...not gonna deny the fact that ...that is a needed item...but thanx for the info guys

Check your AFM wiring. You should have two grounds, one +12v, and one 0-5v.

i have a series 2 sir....and series 2 only comes with 1 ground 1 positive 1 signal
