Before I drop my RB20DET in my car I want to know how much transmission fluid the transmission takes? Also what is a good brand/weight to put in there?

Thanks for the fast replies... I figured it would be easier to put transmission fluid in the transmission when it's out of the car as oppose to when it's in the car lol.

haha yeah its all gonna leak out the back lol where the driveshaft goes in, its easy, pull out the shifter and pour in.

That's all you have to do once it's in the car? Pull out the shifter assembly and pour it in? Is that how it was designed to be filled from the factory? That's awesome!

Well if it leaks out the back where the driveshaft is why wouldn't it leak out when you were driving up a hill or something? That's odd...

really?! you'd take off teh transmission with teh driveshaft still attached?! i'm willing to bet that something prevents it from leaking out.. like.. THE DRIVESHAFT AND THE SEAL!!! i dunno....

I usually fill from the side of the transmission until it starts leaking out, then cap it. Just over 2 quarts usually, which is correct per the spes Ive found online.

I agree, its not hard to fill it up when its in the car, get a 5 dollar pump and fill through the side hole... Nissan did put it there for a reason......

so its A.spend 5 bux on a pump or B.risk getting fluid inside your car....

or C. In my case have access to dealership stuff and fill it in 3.4 seconds
