I was reading the book on the torque for the head bolt and it says to tighten them to 22ft. lb, then to 59ft. lb, lossen all the bolts, then 18-25 ft. lb, and then turn all bolts 86-91 degrees clockwise. What the hell does that mean? I am using a cosmetic head gasket. Any help.

Tightening of the headbolts is a special procedure that requires, as you read, tighetning, untightening, and then a final tightening. The torque specs you listed sound about right (although I cant remember off the top of my head). The final torque should have a ft-lbs measurment as well as degrees, which I assume is what is confusing you. I'll doublecheck tomorrow if no one else has posted with the correct torque procedure. It is in the FSM, though if thats what you've got.

I'm not sure about aftermarket headgaskets, but those instructions are for STOCK headgaskets, starting with the center bolts and working your way out to the outer ones in criss-cross fashion.

Tighten to 22 ft-lbs, tighten to 59 ft-lbs, loosen, tighten to 55 to 62 ft-lb (I usually just do it at 60 ft-lb).
