I've been out of the 240 scene for awhile and my wife is pressuring me to sell my 240 to help pay for fertility costs.
A little background, what's currently installed on the car and some pictures to follow. My reason for making this post is because since I have been out of the scene for awhile, I'm not sure how much to price my car for that's equitable for the buyer and myself. Any help would be appreciated. I'm located in Central Indiana.
The car is a 1997 240SX with a swapped in Redtop SR20DET motor. The car was purchased in Iowa in 2003 with the help of Adam (Dauntless) from Afterdark Tuning (who some of you may remember). The car began it's life as an automatic, but Dauntless and his shop bought the car for me (as I was in IN), converted it to manual and swapped in the current Redtop motor. I took possession of the car in early-2003 and brought it back to IN. The wiring wasn't 100% finished when it left IA, so I brought it to a local IN shop and they examined all of the swapped wiring and fixed any found issues, they also replaced the turbo with an OEM SR T25 as mine was on its way out. I also had the headgasket replaced with an APEX'i 86 / 1.1 metal headgasket, the valves adjusted and all surfaces checked for warpage (there was none). I also had the clutch replaced with a RPS Max Street Clutch (very stiff) and installed a B&M short throw shifter. The wheels are still the original 4-lug variant. All other work has been routine maintenance. The car has 111k miles on the body. The engine was purchased supposedly with around 30k-50k miles and now I would estimate that it has 60k-80k on it. There is some rust on the bottom of the driver's side door and there is some paint flaking off of the front bumper. Otherwise, the body is in good condition. The exhaust is 3" from the downpipe back (downpipe is stock) and there is straight pipe in place of the cat. The car was daily driven until 2006 when I purchased an Xterra. The car was driven as a weekend/nice day car for a number of years but has mostly been a garage queen the last few years. The interior is in great shape, however a radio isn't currently installed but I have an extra Sony Xplod headunit that will be included but needs to be installed. The engine has never seen higher than stock boost (since it's been in the US) and still has the stock intercooler.
Please let me know of anything I missed that would be important in pricing.
