How much $$ to repair left strut column on a 97 QX4?

I have an 03 QX4 but I'm also looking at a 97 QX4 for $1000. Ad states that the left strut column needs to be repaired.

I don't know what's wrong with it, but based off of that sentence, what kind of cost would I be looking at?
Car has 189k miles and looks alright otherwise, is it worth it?
