What's wrong with it? Do you want to use stock parts, or upgrade?

I bought a front clip, and had the motor torn down and put back together to ensure reliability. I had valve springs and RAS put on the head, and got a metal head gasket. The bottom end needed new bearings and washers, but the pistons and rings were fine. All in all, parts and labor, it cost me about a grand.

"rebuilding an sr" is a little vauge. what do plan on doing with it? will it be a stock rebuild? will it be completely decked out? it can cost you anywhere from several hundred to many thousands depending on how you rebuild it. a little more information on the state of the motor and how you would like it to be rebuilt would help a great deal.

how much does it cost to buy a car? same kind of question. well if you are boring it out, it will cost more. balancing, shotpeening, polishing crank etc. all costs more too. find a local machine shop. ask them how much they charge to overbore and reassemble your block. get the prices from arias, eagle, srp or whatever, and add that to the estimate shop cost. answer you question?

No it didnt answer my question. actually its not the same kind of question since I gave some specifics. So what would an ESTIMATE be on rebuilding an SR bottom end with factory pistons/rods and with labor?

You're going to get better and more reliable answers by going through your local Yellow Pages.

No one can tell you or give an estimate unless you contact a specific company...its' going to be different labor charges anywhere you go..Another forum wont help, if they give u an answer, they are wrong for giving you one, unless you are contacting them for the work...if you want to contact us, and are serious we can give u a quote, but its not info you can just post up a number on....i've seen places charge between 1000-8000 for the labor. The parts you can easily find a price on your own, or contact any company. Contact us, tell us your specific goals, and what specific motor work you are looking to have done, and you can get a quote, but there is no way to give u a general idea and be serious.

im "rebuilding" my motor by just replacing all the gaskets and seals myself. The only aftermarket parts i am using are a HT metal 1.1mm headgasket and HKS rocker arm stoppers. The whole thing only cost me about $430 (leavnig the bottom end untouched).
