I was wondering if anyone would know roughly how much it would cost to rebuild my TT motor, keeping it pretty much stock. also are there any places i can buy a built TT motor from? or should i just have my current motor rebuilt? sry to ask i just have no clue really how much this would cost. somethings wrong with my engine and im thinking about having it rebuilt and putting some extras in . thanks for the help

$1500 - $1900 for the work on the average in these parts. Not including parts. Around another $800 for everything I recommend replacing - Rod bearings, wrist pins, new rod bolts (that is just me), oil pump, piston rings.

What that usually buys you -Disassembly of block and both heads (cams, lifters, valves. etc)Cleaning of course comes with that.Decking the blockDecking the head (x2)Balance the crankFull reassembly

Usually a shop will throw in the rod bearings, piston rings and valve seals as part of the job. Everything else is usually a bit more.

Other recommendations will building, step up the head gasket to a metal head gasket if you have plan for trying to reach $450 or so. I love the ARP head bolts, but that is just my preference. Kill the cast flash in the block for smoother water passages, a must for any VG30. And the last thing would be to get the valves angle cut.

Topline has a rebuild kit for 300.00 for a TT. That includes Rod and main bearings, Gaskets, Rings, Valve stems, freeze plugs. Just add a timing set oil and water pump, and you will be at about 600. Then whatever labor cost in your area, or just DIY.

if you can do the wrench work yourself then you only need to have somebody deck it and balance the crank which will come out much cheaper and you can put that money into better parts instead.
