What's a reasonable price for a shop to charge to paint calipers? I just want to know. I might do it myself but if its cheap enough and outweighs the hours of labor then I'd definitely consider it! Any ideas?

i cant see it being worth it to get a shop to do it. It takes a decent amount of time, and the paint guy isnt a tech.. idk if they will know how to get the calipers off.... You can paint them while its still on the car if you take your time but its better to take them off..... g3 kits on ebay are top notch from what ive heard... Then grab some high temp decals on ebay to finish off the look... all in, paint and decals.. it should run you less than $50 on ebay... Id expect a shop to charge you somewhere over $150 atleast.

If you have aftermarket wheels (most) you can see the ugly factory calipers. Painting them makes them LOOK nice and gives them the apperance of a aftermarket "big brake" kit.

Our coupes come with a nice silver calipers but for us who live in the northeast that gets crappy weather compounded with salt and cinder, those nice bright silver turn into a dingy, dull silver....fast! I painted mine a couple of weeks ago and it turned out great! Nice bright glossy red and since the paint is ceramic base, it'll be more durable.....that is untill I move to the SouthWest! Then I don't have to deal with that crap anymore!

BTW,...I bought the paint last year from Wally World for $20.00

Yeah, not to much salt up in Central Florida! I hail from Key West and if I was still down there that could present some issues..

I powder-coated my calipers, big waste of money in my opinion. Get a BBK or don't bother at all.

Just take off the wheels yourself. The car has a cheap-o jack in the trunk, use it to lift up the car.

I was gonna spray paint my calipers but, seeing how rough the caliper is, its not gonna be very smooth. I really want the plastic smooth shine look. I am thinking of getting the G2 paint kit for the calipers on ebay, but I am wondering if it is worth it and if it will indeed make the caliper look as advertised?
