Hey everyone.I'm going to look at a 1990 240sx tomorrow. I don't know if its an SE, but I sure hope its a fastback. Its a 5spd, white, with 127k miles, but the speedometer is broken so who knows how many miles, right? They said it has brand new brakes and tires, aftermarket exhaust(has a brand new stock one that comes with it also). No rust, but some paint starting to bubble, no A/C. They're asking 3000/offer, but that seems pretty high to me, even without looking at it. What do you guys think its worth? Either way it'll be my first time driving a 240, so I'm looking forward to it.

3k is way way too high for a car w/busted odometer, and rust bubbled paint, no ac. maybe 2k.

my car is alot nice than that and i payed 1600 as a favor. Thats a sohc you dont want to pay more that 1500 for it, exspecially with paint bubble. If your serious crawl underneith and beat on rusty part to see how under body is for rust

in 89 and 90 there really was no se, well kinda, the se designated the hatch and xe designated the coupe, i'm really drunk right now so this could be wrong. but i think its right. SE wasn't a trim level until 91+

I wouldn't give but $1500 max. For $3000 you should be able to find a DOHC in decent shape. And if the Speed-o is broke you figure it has around 200,000 on the clock, (figureing 15000 miles a year average).

If you want the car i would say no more than 1800. Also rust makes working on the car alot harder too. After market exhaust, maybe it has been beat? I just picked up a car with a trashed engine but i only paid 650. If its not what you want I would walk away because there are other out there. Nick

Well I drove it, and it just makes me want a 240 more. The exhaust is a total fart can, so i'd prolly put the stock one back on. The lady said at this point she wouldn't go any lower than $2000, cuz the ad just came out a few days ago and I was the first to look at it and she just put $2700 into it(rotors and pads all around, calipers in the rear, new tires, battery and alternator). I also found out the pop up headlights don't work. She said the odometer does work even tho the speedometer doesn't, but I didn't get a chance to verify that. The lower part of the front bumper is scratched to ****, and there are a few other scratches and whatnot. She seems to think the car is in excellent condition, and I'm not sure why. Theres no visible rust, but the condition is just ok. I really don't wanna have to drive 2+ hours just to look at more 240s, but I would like one in a little better condition, less stuff not working, a color other than white, and a DOHC.
