How much should I expect to pay (labor cost) to build my KA?

The labor will include:1. Pulling the motor out2. Hone cylinder, Replace pistons, rods, bearings + blueprinting3. Rebuild the head with some new components (springs/retainers), but keeping the valves, no port work4. Replace some worn out parts along the way (water pump, oil pump, gaskets, etc.)5. Install new clutch6. Install motor into chassis

The labor is whats going to kill you. It's not cheap to have someone else do the work for you. Why can't you pull the motor and re-install it?

If I had to guess.. I would say around 2k with all labor maybe more or less.
