I am having the common miss firing problem with my 2000 Q45, and like others I replaced my spark plugs probably before it was needed. How much should I pay for all 8 coils to be replaced? the check engine light is on, and the code says ignition spark primary, but I also have another issue which is sooo rare I cant even diagnose it, about every 40 or 50 starts, instead of starting it makes a loud sound like a bike rev almost, hard to describe the sound, but the car almost always fires right up on the next try and if not on the 3rd or 4th, any ideas? is the code related to the miss firing or most likely this starting problem?

another problem is, once in awhile when I start the car the miss firing will get really rough and then the TCS and slip lights come on right away and dont turn off, I posted about this problem before and all I got was the usual check your MAF and one guy said replace the gas cap, so if anyone has any more info on this it would be very much appreciated.

Does the code say which cylinder it is? If so, then you only have to replace that coil. They are about $75 each from IOS.

Weird noise sounds like starter not fully engaging and teeth grinding on ring gear.

Good luck!

About the same as replacing the plugs as labor is 95% the same.

Have you ever read the FSM? Did you verify the code?

Do read your trunk sometime!

Don't fall into the ignorant aftermarket hype that a Y33 is a FY33. the Y33 never had the V8. Lots of detailed differences. And just because a part may fit doesn't mean it will work. Read Audiovisionary's posts on the Tein springs.

There are three types of Q45, G50, F(G)Y33, and F50.
