I'm going to be going KA-T soon and will have a shop I regularly go to install it.

Anyhow how much should I expect to pay (estimate) for installment of the following parts. I believe they charge $1,000 for a engine swap.

Why don't you install it yourself and save a few bucks? I wouldn't pay more then 500 for them to install it. Plus i installed mine myself and it was free.

really see no point in taking the turbo setup to a shop to get it installed since its basically an advanced bolt on procedure.

i was quoted at a shop upwards of 800 to install a turbo kit when i didnt know how to do anything..

i wouldnt pay more than 350 for a install.

no real shop will install a kit that cheap

i have even charged $500 to install an IAP kit on an s14 in my driveway on the side

shops go by the hour anywhere from $60-80 typically. for a turbo kit you can be quoted 10-15hours most likely by a shop.

find someone local to you and get them to help you out or do the whole job.

Thousand bucks sounds like an average price for a reputable shop in my area. I wouldn't do it for less. Don't forget, they're probably figuring on taking the oil pan off for tapping and cleaning it out.

Shops do what they do to make money, not to help you get the cheapest work possible.

Additionally, when you pay a thousand bucks for this work, you certainly have a better leg to stand on if you need to return for any problems. However, pay a guy $350 and see what happens when you return for a correction...

of course, no shop will do a turbo install for 350.thats why i will never take my things to a shop unless i am entirely stumped.and yes, i do realize shops do make their money from labor.

im not trying to bash any shops install prices, im just telling him my pov.

sorry if i offended any shops sponsoring nico

personally, i would seek out any local ka-t peeps or peeps that have installed any kind of turbo setup on a car. u will need to learn what can possibly go wrong as having a ka-t DOES require you to have some problem diagnosing skills. Little issues such as a blown coupler can cause you to be stuck on the side of the road if you dont know exactly where all the couplers are. Thats just an example of things that could happen to you but whether u pay someone or a shop to install it, make sure u are there every step of the way so that you won't be married to that person if something should go wrong...................
