I will be putting a down-payment on an S14 SR20DET this coming Monday.

I will also have:

- turbo elbow- down-pipe- test-pipe- 3.25" exhaust- 11 lb. flywheel- Altima electric fans- air filter- SMIC

How much power do you estimate I will make? I am thinking around 210 WHP at 7 lbs. Sound correct?

Chicos240 or something like that made just about 200 WHP at 7 PSI with just an intake and catback.

I will have that and a turbo elbow, testpipe, flywheel, and downpipe.

I made 197 on basically an s14sr (s15sr w/370cc's, s14maf, stock boost) with the old 87 octane that was in my tank for 6 or so months.

Its very possible to do 210 whp on 7 lbs. Import tuner did a article on an s13 with a REDTOP (t25) with just an intake and catback exhaust he got 187 whp! With testpipe and downpipe and fan deleat he should deffinatly be able to hit those numbers. Not to mention Hes an s14 which makes more power anyways! I say 210 whp easy

the s14 sr makes more power partly because their stock boost is higher than s13 sr. this is why i cant imagine u'll get more hp then factory by turning down teh boost

stock boost is 10 psi iirc. true the vvt and dif turbo help over s13 sr. but when u take a stock s14 sr which has vvt and t28, turning down the boost wont get u more power even w/ some boltons

Where does it say stock boost is 10 PSI?

Hungryjoseph dynoed his car with almost exactly what i will have and he made consistent 230 WHP runs at 11 PSI.

I should be at the 200-205 WHP range at 7 PSI.

It says it twice, once when he posted it, and once when you quoted it.

It's 10psi...I just asked 240sxmotoring last Saturday. You're in T25 world thinking you want to be at 7psi. If you want 7, just go buy an S13 SR.

Why don't you just ask Hungryjoseph then, assuming he's got an S14 SR20?

This thread kind of sucks...

Why'd you pick up a flywheel before an FMIC? What kind of clutch are you running? What kind of "air filter"?

and again, WHERE ARE YOU GETTING THE MOTOR FROM? MAKE SURE IT'S LOCAL.

I'm guessing you'll be at 210-220. Just go get the damn thing and come back in a year when it's finally dyno'd.

stock boost is 7psi on a s14 sr20 i know because i got an s14 sr20. people think is 10psi because on a t25 you need to run 10psi to make the same hp. remember a t25 is smaller so it needs to runs more boost to make same hp than a bigger turbo those.

I just went through the thread and it didn't say it ran 10 STOCK. It just said the run was done at 11 PSI.

Buy an S13 SR to run 7 PSI? Thanks for the advice... I was under the asumption that it ran 7 stock. Now I know I'm wrong.

I picked up the flywheel because I got a killer deal. The SMIC will suffice for now. If an S14 runs 10 PSI stock in Japan, there is no reason why it should be any cause for concern now. Based on the numbers that I saw, I see no reason to up the boost any time soon.

I will be running an Exedy Stage 2 clutch. I will also be running a generic rewashable cone filter. It is very solid in construction, and I see no problem with it.

I will be purchasing the engine from a reputable place in NJ, JDM Engine Depot. The shop I'm dealing with have dealt with them for quite some time. I will be seeing the engine in person. The vendors on Nico gave me nothing but grief.

If you know something why don't you just spit it out to clear this mess up?

S13 SR's run 10 PSI if you remove the stock line to the solenoid that has a restrictor in it.

Anyways with your mods you'll be in the 200-teens. The SMIC is a huge choking point. Be sure to make a front mount your next mod.

yeah if you remove the stock component and replace it with another thing which means its been modify so its no longer stock but with the stock unit on it runs 7psi. so with stock components it runs 7psi

How many motorsets come with the restrictor? 99.9999999999% of people who bought SR20 equipped cars new from Nissan in Japan removed that restrictor the moment they rolled off the lot. For all intensive purposes an SR without the restrictor IS stock.

Wow. You are dumb. If you consider swapping vacuum lines a modification, I feel sorry for your SR. Anyways, I'm not going to continue to quibble over little things feel free to stop whining.

Edit: Sorry Thoughtful One. Ignorance really irritates me.

changing vacuum lines dont make your boost go up you also have to remove the solenoid that has a restrictor in it You said it your self and stock is what came out of the factory with out having to remove things to make more power. at least im not acting like a child by calling you names. don't get mad just because your wrong its ok every one makes mistakes every now and then even me.

LOL. You are wrong now. Changing the lines to the solenoid does increase boost. The restrictor is in the line. Unless of course you somehow manage to find a replacement line with a boost restrictor in it. Wow you are really dumb and every post you make proves that fact more. Man it must be a difficult modification changing your oil filter from an OEM nissan to an aftermarket K&N but in your case I'd recommend Fram .

Cut it out with the silly semantics and name-calling. There is no reason to insult someone, let alone one over the net. Don't get my thread locked over something as stupid as this.

I'm done. Back on topic you should be close to 220 with a stockish S14 SR. They run 10 PSI but it'll spike and then drop off slightly in the higher RPMs.

now im wrong? i didn't even change my answer how can that be? anyways changing oil filters its not a modification its maintains like changing your oil on less you get an oil reallocator kit now that will be a modification. like i said its ok to make mistakes i do em all the time.
