I've been installing a lot in my 09 altima ... two head rests, two dvd/gps, carputer, av switcher, tv tuner and rearview camera.

I just blew a 15amp fuse which was connected from the front power socket but it had a three way socket connected to it as well as all the above mentioned stuff.

Does anyone know how I can calculate how much power I can draw from one cable/power source? Does the gauge of the wire matter on how much power can be drawn?

I just want to avoid blowing another fuse and I don't think that making the fuse bigger will solve the problem, am i right?

To prevent it blowing again, is there a way I can control how many amps flow through the cable?

You can draw as much as the fuse will allow Yes the gauge matters, if you pull too much power through too thin of a wire, it will overheat and possibly catch fire, which would be unfortunate. I would never put in a larger fuse on the stock wiring. I think others in here with more expertise than I can help you on what can be done to get more power to things.
