reliably... you could do some good headwork (port and poslish, shave.... etc etc.) and then go with some aftermarket pistons and run about 10:1 compression... and then aftermarket carb(s) and.... i dunno about 200 HP?

it'll take some work... but with the size of the truck that amount of power is plenty.... especially with the gearing

L20b (modded) is what he's talkin' bout,a v8 is a little out of hand in a 620,plus all the mods that go with it (choppin' up firewall body etc.)if ya want a v8 gets yer self a muscle car,for sixers vg30 is cool, but still lot o mods ta make it fit blah blah
stick with a L series or maybe a z22 hybrid

oh ok gotcha, ive just seen the v8s done and there pretty sweet i wanna do a sleeper type truck for street slash strip so it looks cool and ordinary but when i open the throttle i wanna hang with muscle cars like a 12-13 second run in a qtr

also look up info on a 4.3 chev v6 their cheep and plentiful and built right will make a reliable 300hp plus you don't have to chop up yer firewall, mate it to a firebird/camero 5 or 6 speed and maybe shorten down a astro van posi 10 bolt(some years of astro vans were 6 lug)and you should run a 13 qrt with cement in the bed! and BTW the reason i suggest this motor is edelcrap makes a 4 barrel intake for this motor (no EFI crap to screw with like the vg)

According to chapter 14 in my JTR S10 V8 conversion manual, you can buy a smog check inspection manual from your local Bureau of Automotive Repair (BAR) office.
