Buddy was telling me all I could safely feed it was 300 and it was better to go with a tubro than a supercharger cause the tubro spools higher up where as a super make grunt down low and is harder on the driveline?? what do you guys think? all I really need is 280 hp really.

Thanks!!

You can do a turbo with upgraded fuel injectors and fuel pump to get more than enough. Here is one example. 366 FWHP 326 FTLB torque @ 8 psi. w/ Nitrous.

DAMN! That black max is insane! 362HP! wow! I can only imagine how fast it must be!.. but if your really concerned about messing up your transmission why not just do a 5 speed swap? i have looked into both the 0-60 times and if i remeber correctly the 5 speed is between 6.6 and 7.1 depending on how good the driver is, and the auto is like 9 seconds! But thats just what would make the most sense to me..

Dont know if i was really clear on what I was trying to communicate but if you turbo an Auto you might be looking at..i dont know..someone else tell me what you think.. but 6.5 to 60? Just because its auto.. now im thinking a manual on the other hand already has a 2 and a bit second advantage, i dont think the same rule will apply once you turbo a manual so you obviously wont be looking at 4.5 second runs to 60 but it will for sure be quicker than auto.. i guess it just depends if you need that speed in your life or not...and im guessing since you already have a Maxima you do!!

Have fun with it man...

The Maxima's auto transmission can be beefed up a lot more than the manual. If you are going to turbo it, stick with an auto. Get a VB mod, and a better torque convertor. There is a lot you can do to beef up the auto trannys in the Max, and really nothing for the manual, other that a good clutch, which will kill the transmission faster.

Hal was putting down 476.6whp + 505.9tq in a 95 Maxima turbo with N2O. He went through a couple of autos then did a 5 speed swap. He destroyed the manuals even faster.
