So I'm hoping to have my S13 ready to paint in the next few weeks and it's time to start looking at paint for it. I've painted before with a spray gun on my Sentra and it turned out fine so I was hoping I could get the same results on my 240.

Roughly how much paint/clear would I need to do the whole thing? I went to NAPA a few weeks ago and for a gallon of color, a gallon of clear, and reducer it would run about $200. Is that too much? Anybody know if there's any place I can get it cheaper?

A GALLON? Jesus, that is way to much.It probably **** paint too.I've painted my co-workers cars that skimp on paint and even with alot of prep it still looks like ****.I would recommend ppg paint, while it's more expensive it's definitely worth it for the quality of the paint.Also make sure to spend A LOT of time prepping.

I usually stick to a simple formula..wetsand the clear coat off the whole car, bondo dings and dents that need to be fixed..spray one coat of yellow primer..sand with 180, spray second coat of primer and wet sand, spray sealer of choice, spray basecoat, then spray clearcoat 3 times evenly...wetsand clearcoat when dry and buff...it will turn out showcar quality depending on materials, equipment and paints you use..

BASF = win.

If you just want a temporary change in color, Try the rustoleum paint job. If done right they look GREAT for the money spent.

i use PPG, Matrix or HOK paints and chemicals..we also spray with a Devilbiss GTI Millenium Tunes 620G paint gun and primer with a Devilbiss PRI 601G which is a gun intended for primer.....we prep the surface with a cleaner and keep the floors and the walls wet in the booth as well as a good air circulation system and a good filter kit..we also use a devilbiss psi gauge with adjustments for even pressure

it depends on how its mixed..if its 1-1 then u need probably about half galon. If its 2 to one then ur gonna need more..its always good to have extra paint and never good not to have enough..TRUST ME..plus if u buy more its cheaper..id get 3 quarts if its 2-1 mixture and half galon if its 1-1..as far as clear coat just get a galon and dont look back. make sure u spray three even coats and not 2 heavy..its not paint that leaves runs and bad peel on a car..its how u throw the clear coat...
