I'm getting 60 at idle cold and 90 at revs cold, 35 at idle hot and 70+ at revs hot. These seem a bit high to me . So, what's normal pressure on a CA? I know most oil pumps have a pressure valve so they'll only run 60 or so, but either mine doesn't or it's not working!

I think its supposed to be around 11psi at idle and around 50psi when revving in neutral at 3k rpms.

The lowest mine will ever go at idle is about 25 psi and thats only after Ive been driving around 30 minutes at least. Mine is pretty much just like yours, the fsm says 11 psi or higher at idle iirc.

what type of oil are you using? I know before I took my motor apart, I was running 15w-50 Mobil 1 and my oil pressure was similar to yours. However, now that I'm running 10w-30 regular oil, my oil pressure is around 15psi at idle and I haven't had a chance to check it while reving on a brand new oil pump.

not if this this relates to you but both the electrical oil pressure gauges i have read ~7psi with key on engine off, so i consider that my 0. so if gauge reads 20 i think 13. if your stuff works right then disregard this

New electric autometer gauge w/a new oil pump and clean motor on mobile 1 0-40 reads about 55 cold idle, 25 hot idle. It was reading about 75 cold idle, 40 hot idle when I was running non-syn 10-40.

btw, I've read in multiple places that you shouldn't run less than 40w in a turbo motor.

I'm using an Autometer mechanical gauge, so it should be pretty close. My problem is that it blew the seal on my new turbo (just removed it to verify ). I'm running 10w 30 and a -3 oil feed line with a 5/8" ID return, would think that it should work fine like that, but even a sustained rev in neutral caused it to smoke like crazy. Oh well, I have a new seal on the way (don't want to deal with the seller, West Coast Turbo ftl) so I should have it back together by Sat. I'm going to try switching to Mobil 1 0w 40 (same as I run in the Q) and see if that helps. Any other suggestions?

If anybody else has some advice or suggestions on this that'd be great!
