How much longer will a 1999 nissan altima se with 116,000 miles last?
for $3000
worth it?

its in decent shape
has a few things like clearcoat failure on the roof and trunk,a cracked bumper cover,radio also doesnt work...
typical s*** for a car that old

it shifts a bit rough between 1st and 2nd but otherwise runs fine

For reference, my daily commuter car is a 1997 altima with 152K miles on it. The only things I can remember replacing so far are the alternator and distributor cap. So its amazingly reliable. Mine shifts rough between 1st and 2nd until everything is warmed up. I mostly drive the car in <10 mile spurts so that's supposed to be harder on the parts in terms of wear and tear.

$3000 seems like a bit much though.

Are you able to take it to a mechanic to inspect before you buy?
