thank god i live in the south. i'm in georgia, and 93 octane premium is about $1.66/gallon. i'ven been hearing much worse from all across this great continent. also (i'm a bit ignorant about this) what is this crap about some places having 91 octane as their premium?!? thats lame as hell! where is 93 available, or not available rather, and how much is it costing everyone? sorry if there's already been a survey 'bout this or somethin, but with changing gas prices, i figure its always relevant.Pick your situation...

I voted 93+ Fair. I've been paying anywhere from $1.7x to $1.9x depending on what part of town I visit a Chevron. It's amazing how you can go 5 miles up the street and get the same gas 0.20 cheaper/gallon.

It's about a solid 1.9x here in Orlando for '93 but on my roadtrip to Miami this weekend I paid well over 2.15 a gal a few times..... depressing

Yeah, this is probably one of the most expensive in San Diego County. Right now, at what used to be the cheap Mobil gas station, 91 is at about $2.29/gal. Which means that the the $2.269 that rockenreno saw is probabl 2.41 or so...I love the climate here in San Diego :), but **** I hate the cost of living! :(

you think the cost of living in san diego is bad, try santa barbara! The whole area has a housing shortage so rent is pretty crazy. But I understand that san francisco is even more expensive. I think I paid 2.29 for 91 octane, I have not seen 93 octane at any of the gas stations here. In places where they do have it, do you have 4 different grades of gas, 87,89,91 and 93? Or does it start at 89?

the price on the West Coast of FL is like 1.181 to 1.91. On the East coast I think they over 2 dollars a gallon.

Out here in the far NW 'burbs, I filled up @ $1.91.9 (Why the friggin ".009" of a dollar?) with 93 octane.

Depending upon your local gas formulation, octane levels can vary. In Chicagoland, we have 10% corn alcohol so the octane is upped in order to get the proper combustion characteristics. In other regions, they up it because reduced pollution formulas needs more. You find 91 in areas where the gasoline is "purer" and doesn't need the extra octane for anti knock purposes which is what octane is all about.

I paid $2.35 for 91 in SoCal... needless to say, I've been driving my Accord a lot lately.

Always 93 for me, and I voted fair. It's been anywhere in the 1.70 to 1.80 range.

I was doing somebody else's research for him on another thread when I ran across something about the gas supply in CA. The way distribution is set up, alot of regions are somewhat autonomous because of their geographic location. California is a region unto itself and , wouldn't ya know it, demand for gas is outstripping supply because of more miles being driven on average AND increasing amounts of gas guzzling SUV's hogging the roads (and parking spaces, and probably sitting there idling like they do when they are filling up with gas around here, Crap, man!)( I've watched too many "Strong Bad" cartoons I think).

Thanks to SUV's and urban sprawl, Bud, your're being forced into your Honda so that some well to do soccer mom can go pick up her dry cleaning which is 10 miles down the expressway in a 3 ton truck getting 14 mpg while she yaps away on a cell phone giveing you the finger because you honked when she started to change lanes into you with no signal or shoulder check.
