I'm looking at a 06 M35 with 58K. It has the advance tech package with DVD. The car is very clean, and has good tire tread. With the car they are offering a 3 year elite infiniti warranty. They were asking 23k. Where both deadlocked at 22400, I want it for 21k. Should I give a little? I took the car to infiniti to have it checked out and everything came back good. Its service records are even up to date.

A little high to me. Walk away and let them come back to you with a lower price. I would not pay more than $20k for it, but I am cheap.

$21k seems fair, but if you love the car and it all checked out, and you are willing to do $21.5 - get it. New tires?

Well without the Elite warranty they will sell it for 20k.

Seems a little high to me given the mileage...i bought one with 14K miles and certified warranty for a few thousand more than that...

Try checking Edmunds or KBB to get an idea on prices (a range).

Based on my research when looking for a car, price seems to be dependent upon your location.

I got an '07 M35 Journey/Tech with 28k miles for $23k plus fees in perfect condition with new tires. Tell them you'll think about it, as there are many options out there right now. $21k sounds decent with the warranty, but personally I wouldn't want that many miles to start with. My limit was about 35k miles when I was looking.

Too high if you ask me. That warranty is a shiney object to distract you.

Id look at the tire tread life, brake life, belts to name a few. If these all need replaced in a few months, there goes another $1200+.

Personally I'd hold out for an 07 w/ 30K or less miles.

Nothing is more fun than walking away from the dealers offer.

Yeah, for me the mileage would kill the deal unless it was a fire sale on the car. I searched for several months and only found '06's in the $25-$26k range with high mileage. Then an '07 popped up for $23k with less than 28k miles. If you want the name and number of the auto wholesale place where I got my car, just email me. I work in the auto industry and understand the game, so I refuse to be worked by a dealer. Thus, I do my homework until I find the smoking deals.

Or 60k mile service, that some dealers want $800 for!

Also, at least for reference, check out eBay. That pricing is very competitive, and you might find a car that is local to you - so that you can scope it out in person and buy outside of eBay.

there's a good idea. Have them throw in the 60K service and any additional service items you can.

You really can have fun working a deal.

I also think it matters how long they've had it on their lot. If that car just came off the truck and they can sell w/in a few days that's a lot of extra profit for them, opposed to a car that they've paid on for 2 months and eaten into their profit. So you should get a better deal on that car right off the truck

Here is were we are at now.

19500, and I ask them to take it across the street to infiniti for the 60k service. He agreed as long as I finance it though them, (which I will refi soon after I buy it).

The car has new tires, infiniti just replaced the brakes during the last service.

Miles doesn't really matter to me. I just need something in the teens thats nice for my wife to tote around her clients in.

I 'm debating having them take the warranty out since I can do any work on it that pops up. But its nice to have rental coverage, free towing, etc. Plus I can get the warranty from Scottsdale if needed.

Oh this is an M35x, how much does the X normally add to a used car price? Because they also have a M35 2wd on there lot too.

M35X tend to be just a tad more than just the RWD. $19k even?

Make sure they do a full 60k service. Not just engine oil

That is what I responded with before we left. Although I don't think he is going to do it with the service. He is also willing to backdate the paper work to Dec 31st so my wife can use it as an expense on her 08 taxes.

I'll make sure they do the full 60k.

I feel kind of tied to this car since I paid infiniti 200 to check out the car.

On a scale of 1-10 this deal sounds like a 6-7 to me. I got a 07 M45 with tech, advanced tech, sport, lip kit, and rosewood with 20,000 miles for $24,000.

You could walk out of the dealer with your head up after that deal as you wouldn't be getting totally screwed over.

Actually, if it is for your wife, what do you care? Buy her a 2001 LeSabre or something and pocket the extra money for your next car.

Just bought an 06(base model) from dealer's auction with 23K miles in excellent condition for $19500. 07's with a little less mileage were going for about $22500

My '03 M45 is worth $12k. Makes me want to cry considering what I paid for it 4 years ago. Guess I'll keep it until the wheels fall off.

Off topic I know, I just needed to vent.

New to the forums, I just purchased 08 M35 with 17000 mi, for $26000. They were asking $30000. I thought this was a pretty good deal. I never even consider purchasing an Infiniti until that day I went to the lot. Bought the car the same day. I think I might be in love.

Congrats on getting an M!

Based on what you told us, it sounds like an ex-rent-a-car, right?Any options other than Xenon with AFS?

If you haven't car-faxed it, post the VIN and I can run it for you.
