Hey guys,

I hate to ask this question, but you could guys help me figure out how much this car is worth? I'd appreciate it if you could help me. A friend of mine wants me to make him an offer for it, but I don't wanna offer more than it's worth... I also do not know which year it is.

Thanks for the help

that would be a 1969. It diffrent marker lights than the later cars.

These cars can be a pain in the *** because they have so many diffrent parts on them.

I'm a little confused on the year tho because I'm pretty sure the 69's had some diffrent thing going on with the wiper motor. Might be a late 69 or early 70. Right in the early transition. Pics of the dash might help.

The car looks pretty solid. Check for rust on the floors, and in the trunk.

Car looks like it could be worth 2k+ if it is as clean as it looks in the pictures but feel free to offer less and see what you can get away with. I think $1500 would be a great deal, but it looks like it is worth more than that.

Those carbs are worth a good deal of money but they can also be a pain because there is no filtration there. Dirt and crud go right in to the motor.

Eh, I think I would just keep the velocity stacks. They look cool, and I've heard they sound really nice. but then again I wouldn't want crap in the carbs so...

Thanks for your help, I really appreciate it.

I've got a little different opinion.

Dime's are bringing STUPID money these days, look on ebay... That's a $5K car all day long if it runs and has no rust perforation.

There's a reason I don't own one, it's because they're priced ridiculously.

If you can get THAT car for $3K, you've stolen it.

I'll give $1500 for it sight-unseen and drive out and pick it up in a week.

yeah, 510's have become very popular.

I think i paid around $3500 for my car and it had some cool stuff in it that I didn't even know it had on it till about a year later (roadster 5speed, LSD)

Right now in its current condition I wouldn't accept anything less than 10k for it. Which means I'll have it for a long time

My friend sold a 510 that was of similar modifications as mine but not as cleaned up (imho) with an L motor for 8k. Even had some paint blemishes. Likely had to do with him being know for building up high quality 510s, but still, a good amount of money for a L motor 510 with some suspension upgrades.

These cars are so hard to come by, price is always an issue when you find them.

Bought it today for 4k... Not bad.

It has 2 Mikuni 2 barrel carbs on it and a 5 spd trans. I guess he had a built head and a mild cam on it, but they got messed up when a bolt went into them, so these carbs are a bit too much.

Oh well, seems a like a decent deal.

****, that wasn't a bad deal. A couple of years ago, people would have laughed at you for paying that much. But at the same time they didn't and still don't have a 510 so you can laugh at them now .

Haha yeah, well I still need to give him a little more money, so I won't actually have the car in my possesion until I pay. Shouldn't be a long wait. I'll have pics up as soon as I get it.

The only rust I found was the pretty common "spare wheel" area. No other rust.

as long as it isn't a big hole you are alright.

Not a bad price. You can likely get some of that money back if you sold those Mikunis. I hear they fetch a good amount of money.

I'm sure you'll enjoy the car. They are fun to have and easy to work on. Its a never ending project, theres always stuff to be done!

PS: what kind of wheels are those?

I'll have to say, that when I took it for the test drive, I had a sh*t load more fun than driving my SR'ed 240. Go figure.

I can't imagine having that much fun everyday.

The rust just looked like surface rust, but no eating at the metal yet.

I don't know the wheels. He said "I'll take them off you you think they're ugly." And I was like "Nah, those will be fine..." lol

AHHH MAN, DID HE USE VASOLINE WHEN HE TOOK YOUR MONEY

j/k, you got a good deal, as previously mentioned, these cars are getting harder and harder to find and the prices are going up and up. i remember when i got my first 510 (age 16, 1990) i only paid $600 for it and it had a built L20b with 44 mikunis on it, with bubble flares, mr2 seats, primer of course....very fast for its time and those carbs sang to me!!!! today, that same car would fetch $5000+. Enjoy your new datsun, they are a blast to drive....as you will soon find out!!!! also, i noticed you are in socal so when you are ready to cruise or do some mods, hit me up....always glad to help a fellow dimer. i live in huntington beach and frequent san diego and la all the time.
