How Much Is Fair For A VLSD?

I am talking with a guy in Ft. Worth about getting a VLSD and axles from a 93 J30. He wants $300 for it and I will have to drive 3+ hours both ways to get it. Is this worth my money and time? Or should I try and talk him down?

eh you can buy em from places like heavythrottle and PDM racing for about $350-$400 or so. PDM's are all cleaned up and painted, and heavythrottle's come with the whole subframe. So uhm I guess the question comes down to if the 6 hr drive is worth about $100 to you or not. I say talk him down.

He says it has a 90 day warranty with it.

I told him $250-$275 is fair price as per what I have seen here on NICO, on ZIlvia, etc. He made it bluntly clear that it is $300 and not a penny less. I think I will wait.

I just got an email from him: $360 shipped.

ALso, I searched but what else do I need to get his to bolt into my S13? It is a 1993 J30 diff w/ axles included.

I just need someone to tell me to buy this and it is done;)

I bought my J30 for $230. Came from a 95 or 96....can't remember which one. Anyways, I didn't need different axles. I would wait until you get a better deal, but also you will need longer carrier bolts.

The price coupled with the 3.90 gear ratio makes me think I am gonna pass this one up.
