How much is a scantool?

How much is the scantool for a 93 240sx? I have been researching it for a while, but not sure what I am suppose to get. Is it the OBD-II scanner for ~$150? What am I suppose to get, where can I get it and how much? Thanks.

Your vehicle is OBDI. Generic OBDII won't work. Advanced scanners may have the right adapters, but they're $1000s. Look into something like the Conzult or DataScan. Beware, I know at least one of them doesn't work for all OBDI Nissans. Don't know why.

the consult 2 will run you about $5000, dont know about the OBD I scanner, but it will still be up there, much more then 150. just to get your car scanned at most dealerships will run you about $80, and it takes like 5 minutes

I have a 90, and it has the LED code read out on the ECU, the 93 should have it too. No, it's not nearly as good as the actual scanners, but just FYI, since a lot of people don't even know they are there at all.
