I believe it's 600 bucks for round one, then 100 bucks every upgrade after that. Hardly worthwhile. If you want to race, get a Power FC or some piggyback computer.

Piggyback's generally either replace or fool your stock ECU, but use your existing wiring. Piggyback's can be something like a S-AFC or a JWT ECU. Standalones are when you go to a completely new system that's fully programmable.

Some piggybacks use a laptop (i.e. greddy emanage, buddy club RSC) other do not like the Apexi super AFC. And as mentioned before JWT ecu's aren't worth it, i have seen them fro 695 and ya gotta send them the original. Just get a piggyback, there are other ways around rev and speed limiters.

is that all the JWT ECU is good for on a KA? Rev and Speed limiters? I hope not, that's pretty weak... Cause really, how often are you like DAMN I CANT GO 135MPH!!

lol, yeah my thoughts exactly. I wasn't impressed by the hp gains, but they do offer nitrous control modules. The price for that tecnology is rediculous. $1000+ for the ecu upgrade and nitrous control module. I personally am going with the greddy emanage.....it has a lot of features for a piggyback. If you are thinking about buying a FMU i would recommend checking it out at their website.

It slightly improves the fuel curve as well, so long as you have modifications to take advantage of it. If you build the KA up and then do an ECU reprogram you'll actually see some gains.

Also, the plus about JWT is they probably have a map for you already, the downfall of JWT is that the map won't push things to the edge like you can in person because they had to design a map that was safe enough to use on any engine, which means you won't be getting the maximum potential out of *your* specific engine.

For the cost of a JWT ECU and a couple of upgrades, you can buy a Power FC and have a whole world of modifications you can play with plus be able to change parameters on the fly. Plus, it does interface to a laptop. XS Engineering is running one in their FD. I saw it at IDRC. All hooked up to a laptop, making changes between runs.
