There's a car local to me that has a CA18 in it. I don't want the CA. So I'd be looking to trade for a complete running KA, transmission, ecu, harness and all. The CA would come complete with engine, transmission, ecu, extra ecu, extra CAS and a BOV adapter. How easy would it be to trade? I looked through the BST and didn't see very many CA's for sale or 240's with CA's in them, so I know it's not quite as popular as the RB or SR swap.

I don't know much about CA's, so if anyone could tell me the value of these parts compared to the KA, that would be even better.

Depending on the interest, I may or may not buy it this weekend, so any help is greatly appreciated.

Well, I would buy it if it ran. The seller's username on here is Apex. He has some fuel and wiring issues, it seems. According to him, he says the car will crank and drive, but spews black smoke and eventually fouls the plugs.

He's posted several threads up if you search for the threads he's started and never got it running.

It'll come with a KA, but it's not all there and that's why I'm looking to trade. If I buy the car, I need to have it running by the end of May, so a high interest in the CA would be helpful to me. The KA has the block, head, and internals, essentially. No transmission, may or may not have the ECU, not too sure on the harness.

Yea, it is. That thing doesn't have a harness with it.

I know a guy here in KS that might be interested in a trade actually. He's got a KAT setup that that he's wanting to sell for a CA. I'll link him this thread.

I'm willing to lend a hand in this, seeing as I am pretty local and Ive said too much and been on this forum for way too long to get away with anything.

My biggest concern is getting the car running before the end of May. Well, the 21st really.

You are frickin awesome. I'll be back the 10th-ish. I don't want to thread-jackamacate this thread so I'll just email you about it in a few days, when exams aren't raping me.

Thanks for the vote of confidence Gabby. Love you too.

Ive got one word for you, MegaSquirt (which is actually an amalgamation of two words, go figure). I don't know what the condition of the harness in that car is, but if it even has one, I would guess its pretty torn up. Megasquirt is cheap, and someone on here (jrslink) is selling one already set up for a pretty much stock CA18 with a $900 tune on it.

What exactly is MegaSquirt? I've seen people say all sorts of things about it and it sounds like a SAFC?

Well, I'm going to see the car a little more thoroughly on Wednesday. I'll let you guys know what's up and I might be able to get it running before I graduate if I buy it

Well, I bought the car. Came with a fuel pressure regulator. Just need a gauge now. I looked at the fuel pressure regulator install and it said to set it below 36 psi. I assume that's for stock engines, correct?
