How much HP?

I know the 91 Q is rated at 278 hp, but have read where they actually produced more power. Any thoughts on the subject?

Some thoughts:

The early 91's (and all 90's) were pretty strong by all acounts, maybe just under 300 hp as an educated guess (some say even more), the late 91's (and all 92's) were not quite as strong maybe 285-290.This may or may not be correlated to a reliabilty update the production heads I belive received roughly around that time.none of us are certain on some of those cut-off dates no VIN cutoff for more/less powerful engine in th 91 model year is currently known to us.They <do> say that the stronger engines growl more than the others.

I dont think any Q models ever got real close to the declared power figure until the 94/95's.The above is based on estimates via dyno runs done by members and I seem to rember some dyno results in the last 4 years from some members that point at those numbers.(as well as the general rumor mill here)
