How much horsepower from mods?

hello, i was wondering how high can we get the KA24DE without spending an arm and a leg (since all u guys say its much more $$ than going sr20det or turbo)

whats a good estimate on corrected HP (at the crank) if the engine has intake, headers, ehxaust, UR pulleys, lightened flywheel, electrical fan,

and what are the other best mods to make to the KA ??

actually, dauntless (a fellow member and owner of afterdark tuning (http://www.afterdarktuning.com)) can build you a 'rebuilt' KA with 200hp for $1300, which i think is cheap, or he can build u a 'ready for turbo' KA for 2750

Youve got it wrong, afterdark can do a rebuilt OEM for 1300. 200 HP NA KA is 3200 or something like that.

yes...From his site...200hp KA24DE - $3250

Blah...That's way too much in my opinion...The mods alone will run that, and then tuning and dyno time to make them work together will easily have you arround $4000

Well by the time Im done with my DE it will be close to 200...(crossed fingers) I dont think I can hit 200 to the wheels, but Im hoping to get close. Have 89 SOHC pistons, stock rods, balanced crank. Engine isnt finished yet. Soon going to have hotshot headers, Some exhaust havent decide what yet, cams, jwt ecu, and gonna weld up an intake to go through the battery tray behind the bumper. Not sure exactly how close that will get me to 200, but sitting around guessing is silly.

what exactly do aftermarket cams do??

they will open the intake valves more and for a longer time allowing more air to fill the cylinder, so your engine can breath better and make more power at higher rpm's.
