How much gear oil in 07 G Sedan differential?

I searched the internet, used the search function on Nico and poled 2 Infiniti dealerships so now I am turning to the experts....... Nico members

My 07 G has 69,102 miles on it. It is time for a lot of maintence imo.

One dealership told me my G holds 2.5 quarts of diff fluid. But this same dealership sold me the wrong serpentine belt.

One dealership told me my G hold 4 quarts. And has serviced the diff before charging me for 4 quarts.

I changed the fluid last night... using a manual fluid pump I got out almost 2 quarts. I then jacked up the front of the car with a pan under the diff. I have a 6 ton jack that goes up 24" so the rear bumper is almost touching the garage floor. I got just a little bit more fluid out bringing the recovery bottle up to 2 quarts.

I used the pump to put in 2.5 quarts before fluid started coming out the fill hole.

I am sure I have enough fluid in the G but just wonder if I somehow didn't get all the old fluid out.

It seems weird, maybe your fluid was low, I'm not really able to offer much advice... I suppose I should get my fluids done soon too

Strange that Infiniti has no idea about the volume Hopefully someone with a newer G will chime in

The service manuals are posted for our Gs on this site.

The diff hold 3 pints, the MT holds just over 3 quarts. Hopefully your dealer didn't jack you for 4 quarts just for the differential.

I just bought 5 quarts of Royal Purple gear oil from Amazon.com. Will be changing the those fluids this weekend and hope the services specs are correct.

Manual says 3 pints. I got about 2.5 quarts or 5 pints into it last night so I'll need to let out some. Although I see a way both dealerships could be correct.

2 quarts = 4 pints. Maybe one was talking quarts and one talking in pints although they both said quarts.

I got 2 quarts or 4 pints of dirty fluid out of the diff? so maybe I'll just leave it be.
