According to Edmunds, the specs are:
2010 EX: 16 mpg / 23 mpg / 19 mpg
2011 EX: 17 mpg / 24 mpg / 19 mpg
So you'll save 1 mpg with the 7-speed. To me, driving the 2008 5-speed and liking to use the manual shift a lot, especially on hills (I live in San Francisco), the advantage of the 7-speed would be more precise downshifting on hills because going from 3rd to 2nd, or 2nd to 1st gives you a big (and in my opinion, too much delayed) bump when downshifting (you almost feel like you've lost control of the vehicle for 1-2 seconds on downhill runs; on uphills, it's not a problem). I'd like more control of the transmission on downhill terrain. If you're mostly driving flatlands, I see no advantage in the 7-speed (except for that 1 mpg fuel savings).
