I just weighed my car. With no spare tire or jack, a full tank of gas, a subwoofer, and me in it... 2860.

Damn s13's, i hate how they're lighter than s14's....2790 pounds, 1/4 tank of gas, no driver.Since then I gutted about 60 pounds worth of crap, so it's down to about 2730, and my wheels are a lot lighter too...so low 2700's right now...no spare tire, no jack, no useless crap.

I have my spare and jack in my car, I only take it out when I go either autocrossing or to the drag strip. I also have one 10" sub in the back. Same deal with that.

I haven't taken my car to the track but you can't go without your spare and jack man. If you ever blow a tire, you'll appreciate it... I have

I was bout to say that. Where do you guys weigh your cars? Those weight stations? Is that free and isn't it just for trucks?

No it's not free. Usually costs like 6 bucks. At least out here.

You also use it for registration when u need the weight of the vehicle.

do they tell you how much weight is in the front and how much weight is in the back? or just how much your car weights all together?

I doubt they tell you anything more than the weight. I wouldn't trust a truck stop scale--they're meant to weigh vehicles that are a helluva lot heavier than a regular car. It's like weighing a shoe on a bathroom scale.

If you have a recycling center around you, try that. That's where I got mine weighed, and it only cost me $5.

I weigh my 97 on occasion. .

Without me, it's 2,830 lbs with all the crap I have laying around in it, and half a tank of gas. . 2820 with quarter tank.

Isn't there a formula you can use to find the weight of the car?

I think you have to use the pressure of the tire and the amount of tire touching the street..I'll find it..

not really, because then sidewall stiffness, ambient temprature, weather the car has been running or sitting still, would all affect your results.

I think it's easier to just drive it onto the scale and then get out and read what it says :D

Tire design has alot of bearing on how much the tire flexes. If the car was run recently air will be hotter and theirfor be more pressurized, every tire you measure the air will be cooling and you will get slightly different results for each wheel. Also, how do you accurately measure the contact patch? the CP isnt nessecarily perfectly rectangular, the edges might be slighly rounded and in a trapezoidal shape. Yet another point, if i have my tires inflated to 50psi your not going to get much variation in contact patch no matter how much weight is on the car. I think any method like this would be incredibly inaccurate.
